Provence Marinaside and The Wine Bar invite you to join us as we welcome Jean-Frederic Hugel of Hugel wines. On March 1, 2020 we present an Alsatian inspired menu by Chef Jean-Francis matched with Alsatian wines from Hugel winer in Alsace. With Chef Jean-Francis busy in the kitchen ensuring that the food is perfect, Jean-Frederic will guide you through the pairings.
A little about Jean-Frederic, the man who is the face of the winery today, and how he came to his position. Just imagine the stories he has to tell.
Jean-Frederic Hugel is part of the 13th generation of the Hugel family. As his initial intention to pursue a career in marine biology was soon replaced by a passion for wine, he took the sales and marketing path of the family business.
After studying at ISEG Strasbourg, UC Irvine and St John’s University in New York, he joined the family company in 2013. Having worked many different positions in the company along his younger years, he was soon put in charge of the US market, closely followed by Germany, Sweden, Norway… After the tragic passing of his father Etienne, he took in charge the marketing and sales side with a large part of his time dedicated to the export markets of the family.
Today backed by Marc, his uncle, and Marc-André, his cousin, under the benevolent eye of André Hugel, the patriarch of the family, he pursues the passion for excellence of his ancestors before him.
