Road 13 was recently voted 2018 Winery of The Year by Wine Align and we couldn’t be more pleased to have them as a partner for this exclusive event. Chef’s Jean-Francis and Sheldon have joined forces with our Wine Director, Joshua and Joseph Luckhurst from Road 13 Vineyards to bring you an amazing Rhône inspired 4 course paired dinner.

We begin the evening with a reception from 6:30 to 7:00 where we’ll be serving Road 13 Sparkling Chenin Blanc with Smoked Salmon Blinis and Read Island Oysters. Following the reception, we’ll sit down for dinner at 7:00. Once everyone is seated, We’ll bring out the first course – Seared Scallops with chestnut and lavender vinaigrette paired perfectly with Road 13 Viognier.

After a short break, we’ll move on to our second course of Bouillabaisse. Chef JF’s bouillabaisse is a classic on our menu, and for this evening is matched with Road 13’s Roussanne, Platinum winner in the National Wine Awards of Canada 2018. Proving again that Road 13 is one of the best producers of Rhône style wines in Canada.

For the 3rd course, we have Road 13 GSM (Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre) to accompany Morel Dusted Veal Tournedos with crispy prosciutto, sunchokes, rainbow carrots, and a delicious red wine veal jus made with Road 13 GSM.

Mignardise with your choice of coffee or tea will be served for dessert.

Throughout the evening, we’ll hear from winery principals who will discuss the process of creating their award winning wines, and the process of matching food and wine. Purchase your tickets at eventbrite, but don’t wait too long as space is limited.

As if the dinner and wine parings were not enough, one lucky ticket holder will win a double magnum sized bottle of Road 13 Seventy-Four K, an impressive blend of varietals that’s sure to please any palate. A few words from the Road 13 about the Seventy-Four K:

The 2012 Seventy-Four K has an impressive dark ruby colour. Complex aromas of ripe prune, blackberry, dark chocolate, orange blossom, and leather leap from the glass. The rich palate is full of generous flavours of fresh plum, spice, blueberry, mulberry, bitter chocolate, and apricot. This complexity is the result of blending, with each individual component contributing a variety of qualities. The different grape varieties work harmoniously to create a multilayered wine that has character, richness, and structure with fine ripe tannins. The long and lingering finish simply doesn’t want to stop!
